FIRST SNOW!

With a feeling of alarm we awoke to an early snowstorm on October 4th.  Snowflakes fell hard like swollen waters over a dam, and piled up three inches worth on the ground and in the trees which are still dressed in their full summer greens.  The snow lasted two days followed by freezing temperatures.   Ron works furiously on getting ready to leave, but there are still things to be done.   At the moment he is tiling the bathroom floor which was rotted around the toilet, and since linoleum has a tendency to curl up at the edges in hot climates we decided tile was the way to go.  Our "Color Tile" store experts clued Ron into a slightly different type of cement board than we normally use in the house.  This board is more flexible and can be cut with a good utility knife.   Poor Ron is squeezed into a very small space with tiles, buckets, trowels, etc, but he's nearly finished and the floor is looking great.

  1. Wow! Sounds like winter instead of fall! I can imagine Ron doing a fantastic job as he has a great track record with his carpentry work!!!
